Going abroad for the first time? Don’t panic! Here’s a simple, step-by-step guide to the documents you’ll usually need when applying for a visa:

1. Your Passport 🛂

  • Must be valid for at least 6 months from your travel date.
    • Example: Traveling on July 1, 2026 passport must be valid until at least January 1, 2027.
  • Should have at least 2 blank pages for stamps.

 

2. Visa Application Form 📝

  • Fill it out completely, sign it, and use black ink pens only.
  • Some countries have online forms—make sure to print a copy if required.

 

3. Photos 📸

  • Usually 2–4 passport-sized photos. Label and write your name at the back of the photo.
  • Check the embassy’s requirements carefully:
    • Must show ears, no earrings, no smiling.
    • Plain background, neat appearance (collared shirts with sleeves), no selfies.
